Tell Me More

What I Do

Has your rock star trashed the metaphorical hotel room?

Your ninja committed professional seppuku? Your guru ascended to a new job?

Time to call in a grown up.

User Experience

Creating seductive, delightful, and engaging experiences is what I do. From data analysis and creating personas to architecture documents, wireframes and working prototypes, I can work in a Lean UX environment or large process-driven group.

Visual Design

I'm a pragmatic, flexible, low-maintenance designer with a simple, clean aesthetic and a hunger to create. From startups to Fortune 500 companies, private industry and non-profit, marketing or product, I help brands put their best foot forward.

Front-End Development

The multiple flavors of HTML, CSS, and Javascript are the substrate to produce my work. From prototype to production, I love writing mobile-first, responsive and standards-based code with solid contemporary frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation.

Content Strategy

I have 10+ years experience writing and editing content for online distribution, providing a strategic methodology across platforms. Though specializing in content for marketing, I'm no stranger to the impact of content strategy on the user experience.

My Story

  • The Early IT Years

    1991 - 1999

    The Early IT Years

After graduating high school, I planned to pursue a career in the performing arts, but reality and finances got in the way. I received my first degree in Information Technology at TSTC during the early days of the profession, working in technology support and IT training while continuing my education in the arts. Seeking a way to combine the two, I started to pursue Marketing & Graphic Design.

  • The Dot-Com Years

    1999 - 2005

    The Dot-Com Years

After finishing my undergraduate degree at UT-Brownsville, I fell into what would become the major focus of my career. Working with companies like Match.com, Travelocity.com, Move.com, and InterCall, I started in earnest as a designer and developer, creating content management systems, e-commerce sites, digital marketing materials and print campaigns from concept to production.

  • The Move to Non-Profit

    2005 - 2012

    The Move to Non-Profit

Like much of my family before me, I made the decision to enter academia, I joined the first graduate cohort of Art and Technology students in the now popular UT-Dallas program, with hopes of evolving as an artist and designer, while pursuing an academic career. In addition to teaching art / design / technology courses with DCCCD and UT-Dallas, I also spent my time running the online properties of North Lake College.

    Freelance Design & Development

After coming to a professional and personal crossroads, I needed a fresh start and relocated to the San Antonio area. I've had the opportunity expand and specialize as a user experience / visual designer, working with clients such as Dell, Academy Sports + Outdoors, SolarWinds and CORT.
